Treasured for centuries the pearl is the only gemstone that grows inside a living organism. It is the oldest known gemstone in our history. Worn by royalty, nobility, and noteworthy individuals, today, pearls come in many shapes, sizes and colors.

South Sea pearls are the most valuable pearls in the world. A South Sea pearl oyster can grow up to 12 inches in diameter and can have up to three generations of pearls in one oyster.
The first generation takes 4- 6 years and yields a 7.5-14mm pearl size. The second generation takes 7-10 years and yields a much larger pearl size from 14-18mm. The third generation is the largest at 18-25mm taking 20-30 years to develop.
